Let’s make it
one step at a time- 01
Prep Preheat oven to 325°F (163°C) Line a 9×9 pan with parchment (leave overhang for lifting)
- 02
Melt + Dissolve Sugars Melt butter (microwave or stovetop) While still warm, whisk in: granulated sugar brown sugar Whisk 30–45 seconds until glossy (This step partially dissolves sugar → chewy texture + shiny top)
- 03
Add Eggs + Vanilla Add eggs + extra yolk + vanilla Whisk vigorously for 1 full minute You want a thick, slightly ribboning batter
- 04
Dry Ingredients Sift or mix together: cocoa powder flour cornstarch salt Fold gently into wet mixture (do not overmix)
- 05
Add Chocolate Fold in chocolate chips
- 06
Bake Pour into pan, smooth top Bake 20–25 minutes Done when: Edges are set Center is slightly underdone (toothpick = moist crumbs, not wet batter)
- 07
Critical Cooling Phase Cool completely in pan (at least 2 hours) Cutting early = crumbly, not chewy
That’s a good thing made.
Enjoy every bite.
